Arise is pleased to welcome onboard Elan Theeboom, who commenced his tenure at Arise on 2 November 2020 . Mr Theeboom is a seasoned ESG specialist with more than 17 years’ experience consulting in the ESG and engineering disciplines across Sub- Saharan Africa. He joins Arise from WSP, one of the largest international engineering and sustainability professional services consultancy. In his previous role as Senior Associate, he was instrumental in building the operational business strategy for WSP’s Sub – Saharan Africa Environmental & Social (E&S) consulting services. Elan has extensive experience in overseeing E&S supervision missions, E&S due diligence assessments, ESMS revisions and staff capacity building and training for a wide range of financial institutions in Africa.
During his tenure at WSP, he has worked in-country across the scope of Africa, including Botswana, DRC, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe and remote experience overseeing teams on-the-ground in Djibouti, South Sudan, Swaziland, Zambia.
