dfcu Bank has launched a six month CEO Leadership Masterclass to develop its next cohort of leaders. Led by Charles Mudiwa, Chief Executive Officer, the programme focuses on enhancing self-awareness, strategic thinking and influence, and the skills crucial for navigating today’s complex financial environment.
As banks face digital disruption, evolving customer expectations, and regulatory pressures, leadership that balances performance and purpose is vital.
Launched in January 2025, the masterclass began with a dinner attended by Arise. It then moved into a two day retreat entitled Leading myself which explored personal leadership foundations. Participants used frameworks like the Johari window and Kolb’s learning cycle to deepen self awareness, identify blind spots, and to improve team dynamics.
“At dfcu, we believe leadership begins with self awareness and purpose. Through this masterclass, we are equipping our leaders with the mindset and skills to not only drive performance but inspire transformation within the organisation and beyond”, said Charles Mudiwa.
For Shan Nakanjako, cohort president and Manager for Transactional Products and Liabilities, the experience has prompted deep reflection on values and decision making.
As the programme progresses, participants will develop their ability to support dfcu’s mission of values driven financial excellence.
