dfcu Bank sponsors PSFU NextGen conference to empower young entrepreneurs

dfcu Bank sponsored and participated in the PSFU NextGen Conference, a key platform designed to equip young Ugandan entrepreneurs with essential tools, insights, and networks. Organised by the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), the event reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and driving economic growth in Uganda.

In his opening remarks, PSFU Board Chairman Amos Nzeyi emphasized the conference’s goal to empower youth with knowledge from experienced entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses, helping shape Uganda’s economic future.

The conference featured panels on business growth, women in business, investment trends, and a keynote by renowned entrepreneur Vusi Thembekwayo. Participants gained practical strategies and guidance on tackling challenges like accessing capital, scaling businesses, and fostering innovation.

dfcu Bank’s collaboration with PSFU aligns with its 60-year legacy of driving economic empowerment. The bank’s support includes initiatives like the Investment Club and SACCO, which have reached over 33,000 groups, as well as the Business Accelerator Program, which helps agribusinesses become investment-ready.

CEO Charles Mudiwa highlighted Uganda’s wealth of entrepreneurial opportunities, urging youth to leverage these for business success. “Having strategic intent is critical for success,” he said.
