Empowering women in the fight against climate change

At a recent event unveiling the Women Leaders for Climate Action (WLCA) strategic plan, Mukwandi Chibesakunda, CEO of Zanaco, joined other prominent women leaders to emphasize the critical role women play in combating climate change. As Co-Chair of WLCA, Mrs. Chibesakunda called for more than just inclusion; she advocated for women to lead the charge in shaping a sustainable future.

Her Honour, Vice-President Mrs. W.K. Mutale Nalumango, who serves as the Patron of WLCA, underscored the urgent need for targeted and scalable interventions to support Zambian women as they tackle the diverse challenges posed by climate change.

Co-Chair Nachilala Nkombo also outlined the six-year strategic plan, which aims to build resilience and create opportunities for communities committed to green growth.

Zanaco remains dedicated to collaborating with key stakeholders in fostering a sustainable future, empowering women, and advancing climate action.
