When did you join Arise and what was your motivation for taking up this position?
I joined Arise at its inception on 1 January 2017. The opportunity to join Arise was especially exciting to me as it meant that I would be intrinsically involved in building the organisation from the ground up and be part of creating a thriving business. Furthermore, it provided an opportunity to work with a small group of dynamic professionals, who would contribute to my growth as a person and as a professional.
What aspect of your job do you most enjoy?
I enjoy engaging with each member of the team on a personal level and gaining insight into who they are as people as well as gain a deep understanding of what they are aspiring to achieve in their career. Facilitating and contributing towards helping them achieving their goals is my greatest honour and the part of my role I find the most enjoyable.
What has your top 3 highlights been?
1. The Arise launch event
2. Watching members of the team grow in their careers and achieve great heights
3. Creating priceless memories with the team during our strategy sessions in The Netherlands
What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
It is often challenging to motivate an employee, who is experiencing challenges around aligning their current ambitions and passion with the future view of where they would like to be within their career and in the organisation going forward.
Progress and growth take time and can be a challenging journey. Within my role I feel a responsibility towards assisting each employee to build a plan for their future growth and motivate them to stay committed to the journey even when the going gets tough.
