Omnisient
South Africa, Omnisient
In 2024, Arise made a strategic investment of USD 7.5 million in Omnisient, a Fintech company headquartered in Cape Town. Recognised internationally as the global leader in privacy-preserving data collaboration for financial inclusion, Omnisient has enabled over 3.2 million individuals so far to qualify for affordable credit who would have otherwise been declined due to lack of behavioural information. This is achieved by providing the secure and regulatory compliant process and environment that enables retailers, banks, insurers, and healthcare organisations to anonymise, protect, and overlap their sensitive data with collaborating partners, and then analyse and apply AI to this overlapped data to build models that predict human behaviour. This is done without ever putting sensitive data or data owners at risk because data never exchanges hands and personally identifiable information is anonymised and protected by advanced and irreversible cryptography.
Omnisient protects over 160 million consumer records for over 80 leading banks, insurers, retailers, and healthcare organisations and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneer Community, a TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 participant, a member of the United Nations Privacy Enhancing Technologies committee, and a Fast Company “Next Big Things in Tech” startup, among other accolades.
