Zanaco invests in Zambia’s future through grassroots football

Zanaco’s commitment to community impact was on full display at the 2026 Zanaco Grassroots Under 17 National Football Tournament, held from 3–6 July in Zambia, which brought together 400 boys and girls from all 10 provinces of Zambia.

Delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the tournament created a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, compete at a national level and pursue opportunities for future development in the sport. More than a football tournament, the initiative reflects Zanaco’s “You First” brand promise which places communities and young people at the centre of its efforts. By investing in youth development and creating pathways for emerging talent, the Bank is helping to build confidence, promote inclusion and unlock opportunities for the next generation.

The tournament also supports broader national efforts to develop grassroots sport while strengthening communities across Zambia.
